STUDENTS REFLECT - "MR. K"

 "in 7th grade i had mr. k the 3rd quarter when he started to get very sick. we didn’t see him much in class but when we did he always put a smile on everyone’s face and made class so fun. he’s such and inspiration and pushed me to be the best with my creativity. throughout the rest of my life i’ll always remember him specifically as the best teacher i’ve ever had and an amazing artist"

"The day I met Mr. K I knew he was going to be my favorite teacher until I graduated. Mr. K is such an amazing person inside and out. He has shaped me into the person I am today. He was always there to help and listen when a student needed it. Mr. K is so kind and loving, he will always put you before himself and will always be there to guide you in the right direction. Every time I would stop by his classroom in the morning I would see his gleaming smile and it would put my day off to a great start. Mr.K will always have a important place in my heart, and I miss seeing him everyday at school! I have been blessed to meet a person this generous in my life. We need more people in this world to be like Mr. K."

"He was my favorite teacher! He gave me a painting of sunflowers in like third grade, and I treasured it so much. I had him again in the middle school, but he was unfortunately not there much due to health issues. Regardless, I was grateful for the time I had with him in class!"

"Mr K taught me a lot of the art skills that I know now and I don’t think he understands how much i enjoyed having him as my elementary and middle school art teacher.  "Mr. K had a huge impact on me. From Kindergarten to 4th grade, then from 7th to 8th grade, I had Mr. K. He is a family friend of my Aunt, former elementary school teacher, Ms. Maszgay. From when I was in kindergarten, to 4th grade, Mr.K helped me learn how to draw, but behind the drawing was a deeper meaning that affected me completely for the rest of my life. He taught me to always keep trying, and to never give up. I still draw to this day, and I’ve gotten a lot better from my kindergarten stick figures, I would say myself. When I transferred to my new school last year, I realized how much I missed Mr.K. He was always a bright light in the dark of my “sucky” school days. He always tries to make everyone smile, and is someone who is absolutely filled with compassion and companionship."

I am so appreciative that we spent so many years together, although I wish I could be in your class forever. Your kindness is unparalleled and it made me an overall better artist and person. Your calm demeanor makes for a stress free environment where people can feel at peace in their art. As you may know from the years I have been in your class I have a never been a great artist but I feel like I have made significant progress in my art skills. While I will never be the next Leanardo Divinchi excellence doesn't exist and I think I myself am at peace with my art skills.
